In 2017, with the recovery of the steam turbine market, senior leaders of Hangzhou Steam Turbine Casting and Forging Company seized the opportunity, reviewed the situation, adjusted strategic thinking, enriched the marketing staff, developed new materials and varieties, and increased their own commitment to the casting and forging market on the basis of meeting the demand of the parent company for casting and forging. The quality of casting and forging products has won widespread praise in the industry, attracting the favor of many domestic steam turbine and generator professional markets. Professional steam turbine and generator manufacturers such as Dongqi, Haqi, Nanqi, Wuqi, Shangdian, Jifa, Nufa, and Hangfa are all demand customers for Hangzhou steam turbine casting and forging products.

It is gratifying to note that at the end of 2017, Shanghai Steam Turbine Co., Ltd. appointed three senior engineers and doctors from the Marketing Department and the Process Department to conduct an early inspection on the actual production capacity of the casting and forging company, and achieved very satisfactory results, which was affirmed by SAIC leaders. On March 2nd, a team of five people from SAIC's Strategy Department, Process Department, Quality Assurance System, Quality Assurance Testing, and Procurement Department conducted a one-day formal supplier review and technical disclosure for trial procurement of rotor forgings from the quality system perspective. During this period, the expert team of SAIC Motor Corporation randomly selected three rotor products from different manufacturers to conduct a document review and on-site management review of the key processes of rotor forging production, including ingot quality, forging process, and heat treatment process, in accordance with the six elements of quality management - human, machine, material, method, environment, and measurement. The review results met the expectations of the expert team, and the casting and forging company was allowed to enter the trial production stage on the spot, The technical and inspection personnel of both parties conducted handover on the first trial production rotor technology. The production of the first rotor marks the official start of the cooperation between the casting and forging company and Shanghai Steam Turbine Co., Ltd.
